On the Sacred Line of Saint Michael. We visited this site in 2018, and it was good to return. A beautiful place of prayer, and such an intriguing history.
Salerno Cathedral and the crypt of St. Matthew
Salerno Cathedral enshrines several Saints, the most significant being Saint Matthew the Gospel writer and Apostle whose remains are enshrined magnificently in the crypt. The walls are inlayed marble of different colors. At this point in our trip, we have been in more than a few churches. We were speechless after visiting Matthew’s Crypt.
