Eight hours hiking today. More perfect weather! It was hard but beautiful. We’ve taken some great pictures, and they still don’t do it justice. Spain is gorgeous. At times we walked with an expatriate couple from Texas now living in Mexico, four Jesuit seminarians from Madrid, a nice woman from Colorado, horses, and a wild goat that was interested in our trail mix. Instead of the planned stop in Pasaia, we opted to keep walking to San Sebastian. It’s an odd experience to enter a city after hiking through wilderness for hours. We arrived mid-afternoon and almost immediately stumbled on some of the best gelato we’ve ever tasted. It helps to be hungry and trail-weary! We’ll stay an extra day to enjoy the city and its delicious food!
