Rhodes was an interesting old town that looked like it might be worth going back to.
The ferry ride from Rhodes to Symi was an hour and a half. We didn’t realize how close we would come to the coast of Turkey. Traveling is a wonderful geography lesson!
Taxi ride to St Michael’s Monastery on Symi (~ 30 minutes) with a fun taxi driver/tour guide who was a too-many-count generational native of Symi. He made our day and our visit to the monastery even going in to pray while he waited for us so he could drive us back down to the city port.

Holy Monastery of the Taxiarch Michael, Panormitis
The Eastern orthodox church is interesting…they are heavy into icons. What was interesting is they would have a large icon (in this instance St Michael) then nearby was a smaller version.
There was these icons with a power cord hanging in front of it?
